There is simply no arguing that Lorde has experienced what may be marked as the most incredible year of her life!
With that being said, I do not feel the need to tell you just how fast Lorde rose to fame in North America this year. Nor do I feel the need to expand on the very fact that “Royals” is perhaps the most popular and notable song of the year. Landing itself on countless end of year lists, including a few here at IX Daily.
These are facts we have been subjected to all year long, and obviously for good reason. At the ripe age of 16, New Zealand born, Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O’Connor (better known by her stage name, Lorde) surprised us all with her hauntingly powerful voice, paired with lyrics that make you go “hmmmm…”
After an incredible year, Lorde let everyone know via Instagram that she was taking a quick five week break but would be gracing us with her presence again in the New Year, with hints to a fabulous show for her fans. Those hints became a reality yesterday when Lorde unveiled all the details about her upcoming 2014 North American tour.

If this wasn’t enough excitement for one day, Lorde also released the extended version of her hit album Pure Heroine on iTunes today.
The extended version includes an addtional six songs, and I am telling you, these six new tunes may be the best on the album, period. The extended version of Pure Heroine is worth every penny you spend in completing your album. From one music lover to another, I would not steer you wrong.
The six newly added songs are “No Better”, “Bravado”, “Million Dollar Baby”, “The Love Club”, “Biting Down”, and “Swingin Party”.
Lorde has been nominated for four Grammy‘s this year, two of which fall under what is considered to be the most coveted of categories, “Song of the Year” and “Record of the Year”.
